How can postmodern perspectives be used to develop our understanding of crime prevention strategie
The postmodern perspectives can be used as the basis for the development of peoples’ understanding of crime prevention strategies. Fisher and Lab note that understanding the decision-making process of offenders is very important because it helps in crime prevention. Research shows that there is the need to involve different groups of people in crime prevention. According to the research carried out, it is evident that the people involved in crime prevention are mostly the police and firms that provide the services which give a better understanding of crime prevention.
According to Ekblom, Wyvekens and Council of Europe, pooling knowledge, experience and equipment from different relevant fields and actors such as the police, Judiciary, youth organizations among other groups of people will make partnership preventive measures more legitimate and sustainable. This means that different groups of people should work together in order to make crime prevention to be successful
Moreover, O’Block, Donnermeyer & Doeren note that there is a need to involve different groups of people in the control of crime. This is because they will help individuals to know areas that they need to do adjustments, thereby improving on the measures and strategies that have been put in place to prevent crime. Although it is difficult for the government and security firms to use radio systems in residential areas, there are other strategies that can be put in place to protect the community members. There is a need to carry out analysis to find out how effective each strategy is. By doing this, personnel involved in crime prevention activities will be in a better position of coming up with different strategies that will work for the entire community
The other strategies that can be used include ensuring that there is communication coordination of the landlord in areas that are known to have high-crime activities. Residents who are troublesome and participate in crime-related activities should be reported to the authorities

However, there is the need to review, monitor and evaluate the progress and performance of the initiatives and strategies that have been put in place in order to make the initiatives successful. This means that the strategies and initiatives that have been identified should protect the community members at all times.
